Gamestarf 28-04-2006 11:32 PM

Maybe i was thinking about the opening scene of the movie.
But thats gonna take a lot of time.
if i have time i will try to do these extras.
But currently im only working on simba first.

Update:
I can take screens cause teh dvd is protected...
And my camera is broken :headbang:

Gamestarf 29-04-2006 05:40 PM

Hi all,
I foudn some nice ref pics.
I started to model.
But i have a question, how can a copy a leg and then mirror it?

arran 29-04-2006 06:35 PM

Just group the leg to itself so that the pivot point sits at the origin point on the grid. Then go to edit>duplicate>options. Reset the settings and then change the x scale setting (the first box) to a minus 1 and hit apply.

If your model is set up with the front of your model facing front, it should work.:)

Gamestarf 29-04-2006 08:02 PM

ty it worked :attn:
Think i gonna post a screenie today or tomorrow
PS: i need a pic of the head (side and front) help please

arran 29-04-2006 08:03 PM

cool! Looking forward to seeing your work.

Gamestarf 29-04-2006 09:00 PM

Update: never mind i already got it :p

Gamestarf 30-04-2006 09:52 AM

Is there a set solid button in maya?
Set solid = unsmooth
Please help.
If i know this than i can give you a screen of the body tomorrow (i mean it this time :P)
The head will take some time, cause im a noob and have lot of work and school.
But im really gonna finish this one.
This is gonna be my first finished project.

Gamestarf 06-05-2006 10:47 PM

I found the reduce polygon button but it reduces everything in triangles, and i dont like that.
So i could reduce it.
But here are finally my first screenies:
PS: it doesnt show the images so just click on the links.

The body.

Body with ref pic.

Side with ref pic.

http://img139.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wire4md.jpg
Here's the wire that i ****ed up cause i smoothed already.
I circled the spot that went wrong, in the other screenies you can see a bump there.
Luckely the neck and head comes there.

Hope you like the screenies,
And you may give comment :D

Anhslaught 06-05-2006 11:23 PM

I'm not really sure what you meant by a solid button, but I'm guessing you mean how to make the object appear square and blocky.

You do that by going to

Edit Polygon-
Normals-
Soften/harden- Then just click on all harden.

That should make your model blocky.

Is this what you're tyring to do?

Anhslaught 06-05-2006 11:33 PM

Ah wait nevermind, you want to unsmoothe. There's no option that I know of for that except reduce and it sucks.

DJbLAZER 07-05-2006 12:23 AM

if you have smothed your object the only way of going back is to go to the history, select the polysmooth tab and lower the amount of smooth levels. If you've deleted the history then you're screwed.

This is what i want.
I tried to reduce, but that sucks it makes it also in triangles.
Then when i quadrangulate my wire even gets more ****ed up.
So im just going on too the head now.

Gamestarf 07-05-2006 11:29 AM

Finished :attn:
