not a bad start

esion 15-05-2006 08:25 PM

Nice, it looks like a ferrari hit a cadillac GTS...I like it.

I-Iybrid 16-05-2006 03:00 AM

I love the renders. The car itself is pretty cool. Im not too fond of a few parts of the car itself, but it looks good overall. What textures and rendering technique did you use?

ericmattison81 16-05-2006 03:07 AM

thats one sick big brake and rotor. Nice job, im also not fond of the front but im really not fond of concepts, but anyone who see this pic can tell you know how to model. Great job

i like the design:attn:

Gamester 17-05-2006 06:01 PM

Great work

How did you model the wheels???

younglion 18-05-2006 05:35 PM

@magicsy and pbman - thanx for the comments ;)
@ Gamester - by wheels do you mean the rims and the tire?.....well with the tire i model one strip of the tire pattern the duplicated it a bunch of times merged the pieces, then i i went to deform> non linear cluster>bend. then i rotated the bend to match my tire tread, i went into the history and increased the curvature.
for the rims i modeled one part of the spokes the dulicated it a # of times and rotated them.
i know this is not intuitive but ill find links for modelling them and post them later.

ericmattison81 18-05-2006 07:16 PM

how do you get that bend to worek because it works nothing like it does in max. ive been tryin to use it but i either get no bend or too much bend

gster123 18-05-2006 07:44 PM

Looks cool man.

Just as a matter of intrest did you use a fresnell (dont think thats spelt right) effect on the paintwork as it looks a little too reflective on the red render s of the car.

But hey its a WIP not a finished project.

hey thanx man. ok so update time its been a while since i posted cause i was having problems with the rear lights and they were going to look like i think i must have modeled them about 5 times and going back to delete and start remodeling. so after countless hours deciding the design this is what i have so far.

loving the rear 3/4 view of the car very nice.and the modelling is very very very good lol.but i dunno the concept is good but it seems to be a undecided on what it wants to be, big brutle muscle car or very sexy coupe maybe its just me looking at it from a car design stand point thats what i think.other then that awesome.

yea youre right come to think of it its kinda inbetween but i guess its more of a big brute muscle car with a little sexiness to it.:D

MattTheMan 25-05-2006 11:27 PM

more then a little bit of sexyness! a lot! that is like a super-cool BMW 7 series (looking at the back, that's what it reminds me of).

Great job. Just great job.

MattTheMan 27-05-2006 12:11 AM

Well, you asked for C+C- there is a bit of lumpage going on along the door- you might want to fix it. Apart from that, no crits

Forum_snowboarder33 27-05-2006 06:24 PM

this has some BMW m6 and m5 parts on it.. lol
esp the wheels

younglion 28-05-2006 03:00 AM

@ gster - thanx manreally appreciate the comments
@ 13th_resident - well its a lifetime guarantee.....lol
@ MattTheMan - thanx ill get right on that.
@ Forum_snowboarder33 - well before i designed i looked at some bmw cars esp the 6,5 and 3 series for some influence and i also checked out other cars but the whell was my design from scratch maybe the bmw pics sort of stuck to my conscience when i designed. but ah well.

spakooggie 29-05-2006 10:20 AM

yeah it has deffinitely got a BMW 6 series about the rear 3/4 view but its alot better then it because you don't have the stupid parrot face which the 6 series has got lol.and at least u ave stayed clear of the stupid inset sides which the 3 series and 5 series have got it makes the wheels look to small its just wrong.

i think its a very nice design with the brutal and "sexyness" contrasting, very nice.

a lil bit of a crit the A pillar may need some attention looking a bit to thin for the angle i think but other then it is coming along very nicely indeed.

MattTheMan-I hope you mean the new 7 series which has been spied cuz that really is a nice car got it right this time i think lol.

i kinda like the bmw designs but ah well everyone has thier own preferences. yea ill get on the a pillar its still a concept so many things might change at the end. and also thanx for your kind words.
ve been tweeking some liitle things on the car and this is what i have its not much of an update and the colour on the car is just for fun cause i was bored.

spakooggie 01-06-2006 11:55 AM

very good its coming along really well.a few more crits from a design stand point 1st the wingmirrors need a bit of work they seem to be an after thought they don't seem to blend in with the overall design, the shape is fine just the way they seem to be attached to the car
This is just a personal thing the door handles need to be changed they really don't seem to go with the car at all i think more a ferrari F40 kind of handles very subtle especially being a concept you need something kind of special some concepts don't even have handles such as the first nissan GTR concept that didn't even have an interior lol.

i just thought what the rear reminds me of good old aston martin V8 vantage mainly because i got past by one the other day lol.

sorry for being picky i do mean well.because this really is a awesome model.

younglion 07-06-2006 04:34 AM

thanx man i will work on the side mirrors some more but im not going to alter the shape that much and i did take a look at the skyline concept and its pretty nice. more updates did some changes to the rear of the car and this is what ive got so far i also made the door handles a bit smaller. crits and comments are welcome.
