is there any tuts out there about laying out curves cause when i restart i wanna use nurbs either way...
|
Try to get one part perfect before moving on to the next part, youll learn more as well as keeping it nice and clean.
Theres the BMW z4 tutorial using nurbs as people in your other thread pointed out (or the Z4 tut here uses nurbs to polys then to sub D's) |
hey,
i done the tut on the z4 on 3dtotal its in this section somewhere it is a good tut but a little limited an u end up making ur own way 70% of the time but worth a try personally i would restart the mcclaren as this will get u ready for later on in life wen u cant chose adiff car wen u r boss asks u for a ford escort an u give him a beetle good luck though |
If you are going to start completley over... I would just start by making the basic shap of the entire car.. and just get it right to start with.... very genreal then go in once you have a clean shape and do your details.

not like a mclarens spoiler but how my friend has his setup the spoiler is not final there is still a lot of crap to sort out...:headbang:... this threads really dead now so i might only post big updates from thus point forth |
The front end is looking much better. The rear end still needs work, but Im sure you're aware of that.
|
its very basic right now just to get the idea of what im doing
 |
Hey Acid44,
I can see a lot of progressions since your first post  I think restarting the McLaren was a good idea because, cleaning it up would probably have taken you longer :eeek2: I think you're working quicker when you start with basic shapes to then refine afterwards. So, i would say it's one of the approaches you should use  Try to get as many reference as you can. They are very helpful when you need to model areas/sections that are unseen in blue prints  Keep in mind to keep it low when working with polygons, because you will eventually smooth the whole thing afterwards. Try to keep it all Quads instead of Tris (where you can) and absolutely NO N-gons (this will give you unwanted result when you clean-up or smooth) Anyway, hope this helps... and Keep it up my friend! Cheers, Kevin |
hey man nice work this is looking alot more solid and clean im glad my idea helped you out a little bit but... can we get a wire frame of it? Im kinda wondering how they are turning out.
|
@lok1 ill post a wire frame tommorow im to tired rite now
@weyvin-thanks for the comments:beer: every once in a while i smooth it to make sure it looks ok  |
forgot to mention earlier to kevin-
i have my blueprints then refs from the mclaren site of just about every detail exept for around the exhaust which i cant seem to find so ill probably e-mail them for that later. im having some troubles at home right now so may not be any updates for a bit :angery: :angery: :angery: |
