Reading lamp

Hi all, here is my new upload the reading lamp model with wireframe graphices.

Before I'm always use polygon to create but some details will be hard. If can combine nurbs and polygon will bring you good design.

This model create with nurbs and polygon.

BTW my bad English.

update test maxwell render.

arran 30-11-2007 12:20 AM

i used to have that lamp!

looks like a good start - though some of your mesh looks a little dense in places.

how did you make the holes / slits in the top?

lealar 30-11-2007 04:03 AM

;)
Hi arran, you found me haha. the holes are easy for nurbs. I will show you setup graphics after i go home. see you later and keep up.

gster123 30-11-2007 04:16 AM

the modeling looks pretty good,

The Maxwell render looks a bit of an over kill for this though. I'm sure you could get it like that very easily in mental ray with a lot less time.

DJbLAZER 30-11-2007 04:57 AM

Actually it would require much more setup time in Mental Ray than in Maxwell, but the render would be faster. So it depends on what you mean with faster...

Hi gster123, long time no see. Your guitar give me deeping memories how are you now?
;)

I think the mental ray or maxwell render all good plug-ins, so let's keep up our interest.

Update note book render testing with maxwell (model not finish yet).

DJbLAZER 08-12-2007 07:49 PM

Nice work with the lamp, you seem to know your way around NURBS, something I have postponed for too long....

The laptop just seems like two planes with textures....

Hi DJbLAZER, nice see you again. I so glad. before I always used NURBS that's good create and faster, but I'm keep thinking POLYGON with geometry will be better, so try it.

Yeah two planes, here with wireframe graphices.

Hi all, I'm keeping think about NURBS and POLYGON's some problems, which one was finer! If myself I love NURBS and you? I made a NURBS test in differents render engine last render of result was differents too(maytal ray and maxwell render).

The notesbook something need to fixs, update later. Here is a alarm clock with POLYGON.

Yeah a little bit, the maxwell render taken too long.

Here is a one hour scene, a little better.

Mayaniac 15-12-2007 07:18 PM

The model looks good.

The Render seems a bit weird and slightly blurred or.... something... just looks like were looking at it through a filter, or something. Know what i mean?

Nice work!

lealar 16-12-2007 05:51 AM

Yeah, the render was a big problem. I think get a good work = good model+good meterials+good environment(include lights and cameras).
At the present time i'm doing learn how to render. I like maxwell physics lights and emitter but meterial not good understand and take time too long. BTW thanks!

Hi ColdWave, I had same problems before. Then I make a lots scenes render again again even over midnight. I think must know where from the lights and go to where, that's very key. Here is a testing with mental ray and maxwell render. Hope to help you.

Now I had much more questions want to learn and understand, Help each other. keep up!
