Hey guys,
I've been working on this one for a couple of days and I really enjoy it! The Spitfire seemed like a pain compared to this one. After I finish this tut I'm going to try modeling something around the house (as Steve recommended), but there's still 2 tuts that I'm really interested in. I wanted to do some training for more intermediate modeling, so I'm thinking of doing the Ferrari and Apache. Like usual, I’m just going to put up screen shots, but when I get to texturing, I’ll be doing some renders. -Jr.Who :beer: |

I got busy yesterday and today, but my actual Maya work today was lots of tweaking little things. I still have a couple more things to tweak and I need to make the cannons before moving onto the next part of the tut. Here's the progress so far: |

Got some work done today. I have 2 parts left on the tutorial and my deadline is either the 30th or the 31st, so that gives me 1-3 days to fix it up after I'm finished with the tuts. |

Yes, finally done with the modeling! :attn: The poly count on this monster is 69,835 without it being duped over.
I just need to dupe it over, sew it up, smooth it, and set up the render. Hopefully my computer will work after that. ;) I'll probably start the texturing on Monday. Here's the wire: |

Here's the finished model. I'm gonna try to start on the UV mapping tomorrow, instead of Monday, just to get a head start on it.

Just got finished with UV mapping the sails:

looks great.., if you want wake as it goes in the water.., i suspect if you parent a volume field at the bow and set a collision with the softbody passive water .., you should get a nice wake.., though its just a thought 9dont know if it will work ) i had looking at your thread.., you could always use the examples.., but you dont learn the guts of much with presets

I have been watching this post the last few days. I like your model. It seems simple, yet complex all in the same breath. We've gotta see some texturing. Stop messing with us. Textures are gonna make that look great. |
