Hey cool renders,

On your scenes, the wall, there is a skewy thing going on in the brick texture.

might be worth remapping that area so the bricks arent skewed.

For the rest looks cool.

Yeah I did spot that but not sure it will be that noticeable in the final as the shot looks quite different now there is a lot more in it. Will give it another look though

Thanks

Gio

THE TALOS PROJECT HAS BEGUN!!!

Hi all,

It's been a while since I have posted any updates on here as I have been busy finalizing all the the pages and building the website which you can view by clicking on The Talos Project

Here's a render of the old Professor character in a shot from the webcomic

So please go and check out the site and I hope you enjoy
The Talos Project.

Thanks

Gio

what resolution did you do the final product in on flash? my widescreen resolution can't fit the story and the buttons and some of the text bubbles on the screen at one time. Kinda got annoying to try and read for me personally.
Does it work on 1280*1024?
As far as I recall even with todays standards optimal design should fit 1024*768.

Despite such sillyness it looks good and is fairly interesting as far as I have gotten. Good work.

alexanderH: The actual webcomic pages themselves are 1024 by 768, any smaller than that I found too limiting. It prob depends also on how many toolbars and other crap is on the browser as this can eat into the screen. try full-screen mode F11 if you are at 1024.

Cheers

Good call on the f11. that works a hell of a lot better. Hooray for space consuming tool bars n such.

hey gio - congratulations on getting your web comic up and running - it looks like you've made a good start. the characters and environments look great and those shots of the building at the start look really cool.

haha cool, I hope it gives you a bit more confidence now dude seeing these comments. All that hard work does pay off - eventually!

I dont think I had any real negative comments either when I started Outlaws. Theres always going to be a couple of dudes out there though with a difference of opinion but thats expected. Sometimes they are relevant sometimes just a load of arse. I saw that dude bang on about facial expressions over at CGS...these are things to be aware of, keep looking at graphic novels (I know you will anyway) they are always a good source of reference even for things like these conversations. The odd eyebrow up is always a winner LOL

anyway you dont need my thoughts on Talos, you already know them....carry on sir!

cheers
Jay

Hey, thanks man.

Overall got a pretty good response for The Talos Project.
quite a lot of people have signed up so far which is really cool. I want to make more now but as much as I would love to carry on, I don't want to starve so back to clients and paid work for a little bit (Groan)

Cheers

Im glad it has because I remember those days (puffs on his ol pipe) of walking across Tower bridge talking all our projects up and saying how much work is going to have to be done and how we want to do stuff and show how things need to be etc...

Long may it continue for Talos and Outlaws but not toooooo long LOL

Jay
