ok, slight update. The wall bump is probably a bit much, but Im not sure...
I added dirty glass to the window, and got a better wood for the floor...

(and how could I forget: :angery: )

looking cool joopson.

i might change the color or tone of the window frame - it's just looking a bit samey with the floor and the sewing table.

only gripe is the strange gold lacing texture on the sewing machine... looks just slapped on because it definitely doesn't have a pattern or design that i recognize *shrug*

if you were looking for more accessories to clutter the desk i'd think about including thread scissors (one handed ovular design), a hem marker and a hem ruler, or even a simplicity sewing pattern.

but would a person abandon it with lots of accessories?

Chirone 21-09-2008 02:39 AM

what reason is to abandon it for that reason or keep it for that reason?

...
but yeah, the gold detailing does look awful, but how would I go about fixing it?

Chirone 21-09-2008 01:17 PM

you don't, that's one reason why it was abandoned :p

NeoStrider 21-09-2008 07:31 PM

oh true, abandoned wouldn't have lots of clutter, just lots of cobwebs lol

well what's the UV snapshot of the sewing machine look like? and the texture (not on the machine, the actual file)? i would think you could do a google search for some actual lacing designs and then just copy/paste them onto the texture... the way it looks now someone just sprayed it with golden silly string. it's all over the place and doesn't form any actual flourishes.

i found this with a google search of 'gold flourish'... this is the kind of thing i thought you were going for.

ok, so I am about done with this, and will work a bit more on the texture (gold parts) before posting the final on the 28th or 29th.

and the window

Joopson 27-09-2008 07:13 AM

ok, as far as I am concerned, this is the final.
I do wish I could fix the bland looking render, but I'm pretty happy with this. The final model (the sewingmachine and table) is just over 6000 faces (a bit much for this)
So, without further ado, here it is!

just over 6000? it looks like it would be more with that iron frame

maybe i just don't plan my polys efficiently enough
