Mitsubishi Evolution 8 MR

after the mustang i did well part of it by no means is it detailed lol nor extremely clean i decided to go for a evo ( came more noticeable i think in 2 fast 2 furious ) and ye i know they used a evo 7 but i really like the evo 8 specially the mr version.

im not gonna say this one is going to be extremly detailed but im goin to detail it as much as i can im still a beginer so lol i need help of the SM coms to advise give hints tips etc as one help can lead on to another help thats what its all about and of course having fun ;).

im going to try and build a site when i get back off holiday so december time for these things basicly a blog of what i do , i know posting a WIP every 2 week must be annoying people and im sorry but without comments n crits where would the drive be?

so heres what ive got so far i know theres a few mesh probs tryin to sort out why its peeling and im allso going to clean up the side mesh as its every where

so

as u can see still plenty of work to do cleaned up the side fender aswell for some reason i always find the front bumper the hardest part on a car

15-10-2008 09:45 PM

lol my clio's been under work for over a year now:p

looking good still, that bnumper looks like its gonna be a bitch from the pics ive seen but just keep at it and eventually itll al kinda fall together

Sicky 16-10-2008 08:10 AM

hasit? but still it shows :P and true for the bumper the angles on it are wierd its got hard edges but its smooth flow realy struggling with it

16-10-2008 08:38 AM

if you want you could pm me the blueprints and i can try to set up an example for the mesh flow

Sicky 16-10-2008 08:39 AM

younglion 19-10-2008 08:25 PM

it looks like you are rushing this model cause there are ngons that need some attention and the ahpes require some attention too.

Sicky 20-10-2008 04:52 AM

wireframe of frbumper

20-10-2008 12:28 PM

you've got way to much geo in the bottom man

Gen 20-10-2008 03:14 PM

Yeah, its probably going to get a little lumpy around the bottom.

Sicky 20-10-2008 07:05 PM

yeah its cause i build it as a full cube i think what i might do is delete some of the unshown faces hopefully it will make it a bit less messy

99GsTurbo 21-10-2008 01:51 PM

what young means is that you want to evenly spread out the mesh as best as possible. ...u want it to look like a grid as best as possible.....if you look at my thread with me and acid, look at our hood...u will see the mesh is balanced...with yours you have too many edges in one area and too little in others and its not spread evenly..

Sicky 23-10-2008 01:56 AM

ahh right , ever time i do that tho it just goes wrong lol

heres what i got so far a quick render im quite pleased with it so far :) still lots of work to be done tho

murambi 23-10-2008 02:49 AM

wow...im liking this, do an amb occl so we can see the details better and wires ofcourse

Sicky 23-10-2008 03:23 AM

i would but i have no idea how to do that lol ive looked up tutorials n follwoed but mine looks nothing like what they say it should lol probs a bad thing

murambi 23-10-2008 03:26 AM

here pretty quick and easy

http://micah.noobgrinder.com/aotut/

Sicky 23-10-2008 03:45 AM

heres a few i think these are right lol , i knew there was gonna be problems with it i could c even without the clay renders but im gonna finish the car first then go around and tweak edges and little bites n so fourth so here go

murambi 23-10-2008 03:54 AM

try and keep the poly flow as even and straight as possible from the start of the front to the back of the car
and its easier to tweek the car when you have very few poly's

with my project i made the mistake of ignoring those small bumps when i started out and now its giving me hell trying to fix them

Sicky 23-10-2008 04:30 AM

yea tryin to keep it base atm adding detail that i think wont interfere with tweaks unfortuantly its never the case it will just take time i think

murambi 23-10-2008 04:38 AM

true true just be patient take your time unless you have a dead line for this......learn from our mistakes

Sicky 23-10-2008 04:56 AM

here here , altho i have improved alot i think from earlier models still a beginer but gettin better

Sicky 24-10-2008 06:58 AM

thought id do a quick update still loooooots of work to be done apecialy around the door area even included a pearl paint i think 0-o

murambi 25-10-2008 02:36 AM

hey sicky you run out of paint lol
i could email you some studio render tuts if you want to see what your model would look like in the end

Sicky 25-10-2008 02:57 AM

gettin annoyed now with this lol i dont know why i didnt notice this sooner as in the start of this project or why no one pointed it out lol.

turns out that the prints for this are wrong,

not that they dont fit lets face it its hard to find prints that fit perfectly and match up but no these prints are not from the same car altho bits from same evo but but not model

theses a hint of fq400 and the original mr which these blue prints fit none of annoying yes but this is learnable.

with help from acid *ty m8y* has hooked me up with some blueprints that are correct lol (all panels lol ) unfortunaly these are evo 9s so another spammy thread from yours truly sorry admins.

however im not starting a new thread *sigh of relief* im just gonna continue this does however give me the opertunity to take my time make sure things are correct and clean so heres the new one lol

murambi 26-10-2008 09:02 PM

sorry about that well the upside is this car will look much better than when you started it out since you know how to tackle some of its problems.......

Sicky 26-10-2008 11:13 PM

yeah gives me a chance to work it out right now.
also its handy to have the right model lol so ive got some good refrences also anyone thats intrested
serious wheels has some realy good refs high quality aswell incase anyone wanted to know : ))

Sicky 29-10-2008 05:30 PM

looks nice and clean.

A tip for hard surface modelling. Dont be scared seperating surfaces. What in real life is seperated you can do the same in modelling.

This will keep your overal wireframe clean.

But your new work looks very nice so far.

Sicky 29-10-2008 05:57 PM

thanks very much :) aiko , yeah im just tryin to follow refs at the mo its a bit of a bitch but acids been kind enough to tutor me along n give me loads of advice n tips so :) big shout out to the acid man
