& his very favorite blood-letting instrument... the axe in NURBS. I couldn't really get the edges to fit together. I thought some sort of fillet was the idea i was after but that didn't work. The surfaces are pretty close together but on an extreme closeup have holes. This is the axe with geometry.

Thanks for the crit kbrown - i took a look at it and it is one of the many parts of the body i'm not totally satisfied with. This is the first time i've tried to really make the musculatur correct. every back seems to be different. i'm going to have to take another look at the underlying musculature because pictures don't really make clear what is there... anyway - hopefully closer :)

I also did some work on the abs, legs and collarbones as well as shaping the thumb a bit more. It's all the more difficult because i decided to weld the two halves together. I guess I could go back. hm... brilliant idea!

To me the elbows seem a little thin for the bulk of the arm.

Dam nice model, starting to get the look of an axe warrior.:)

ereitz 16-01-2003 10:20 AM

thanks Garry1953! i think you're right there about the elbows...

Kevin 16-01-2003 10:25 AM

elbows and the shoulder area... the muscles need to take a little of the roundness out on the shoulder... or the front part of the shoulder blending better with the bicep..

but its looking great mate! I really like the shape on the dude! great work!!

So I split him back up and worked on the shoulder - just going around in circles now i'm so tired. leave it like it is for tonite tho i can see the shoulders seem to stick out a little. Tried to get the elbows a little more proportional... going to bed. :)

And here's the model, rocks, tree and keep in poly - the rock and sky textures are mine, the 70's looking stone isn't...
