Dave thanks mate. I'm the texture artist and modeller at the moment. all done in Zbrush

lots to do still with it...the character is near completion, we are just working up the clothing and a few other things. The new UE4 has new shaders for everything so will be updating again soon.

cheers

:D Very nice!!

Wow a dev update!!

So after spending the last two months writng our own mocap facial software, building our own camera to track, heres the first major output of a character.

Im currently working on a set of facial shapes to plug into the character to refine the performance along with tongue placement and teeth as well, as in this test they are a little too far back.

Thanks Jay
Looks simple but I bet its a little more comlicated than that...............dave

Jay 26-10-2015 08:36 PM

hey dave, yeah it has blendshapes too, so the rig works with mocap, so its all under the hood. Weve written our own capture software and built the camera set up too. No off the shelf stuff

I hope everyone is well, sorry for not being around, buts its good to see some old names lurking in here still, and nice to see some good work too!!!

thought I'd update the page a little with some work currently in progress....

We are due to start shooting a promo at the end of January so its been full steam ahead with mocap software development and character rigging updates....

Nice as always work Jay. When are you looking to release the promo?

Jay 22-02-2016 04:00 PM

Cheers dude

We've just last week finalised our own facial capture software and hardware. We are looking at the promo toward the end of March. But it wont be like your usual promo thats out there for film or games. We are doing something totally off the wall

I'll post some model updates later

Okay so....

An update.

2016 was a pretty awful year by the end of it. The project itself came to a screeching end as far as the VR side of things went. The guy who was helping me out went off on a tangent and basically spent the money we had gotten for sponsorship to develop the rest of the project on his own project, and basically used Outlaws as a way of getting models to use with mocap and VR, so I was very disappointed. it seems everone wants a piece of this for their own ends and well we wont be doing that again.

So currently working on some new stuff on the project, and will update asap on here

That really sucks to hear :(
Are you able to pursue legal action?

Jay 09-01-2017 11:49 AM

THX1138 15-01-2017 08:34 PM

Sad news to hear Jay. Was wondering what happened. Hoping 2017 will be much better year for you.

Jay 15-01-2017 10:24 PM

Thanks dude

Jay

tweetytunes 22-01-2017 08:32 PM

Wow thats utter poop man.
Hoping you put it behind you and feel like keeping going.
Do you have any legal comebacks on this ???

Jay 22-01-2017 08:37 PM

Hey Tweety

Yeah its under constant development so its keeping going. Unfortunately no...the grant from Unreal was free, and the guy ran with it all

lesson learned

cheers
Jay

oh men that really sucks, sadly i have been subjected to such types of situations in my career. The lesson i learned from those situations is to always have some sort written of agreement whether its a client or a co-creater
