I've decided to post this project so I can get some feedback and such. I'll post all the models I've done so far. Basically, I'm going to model a whole community. Houses, park, school, probably a small town, etc. It will be a long project but I wanted to do a project I can always add to and this seemed like a good fun way to do it. I'm going for a simple cartoonish style sort of like garfield, Jimmy Neutron, Doogle, Hoodwinked, etc.

So youll have some close up shots aswell as far out? Really like the simple but pro looking renders.looking at lighting and rendering myself at the mo, these look like good excercises. Like the toon style too.

Yes, I'll have close up and far out shots. I plan on creating lots of different characters and then do some animations. But that's probably a couple of years away. It all depends on how much time I get to work on the project.

I sometimes think about having a big, ongoing project. Possibly a high detailed city to go with some of the matte painting side of things i been doing recent.

If you dont mind me asking, how are you lighting these? How many lights? Gi? Fg? Ao?

Love the second couch.

Thanks daverave. I'm pretty confident I can do the animation but I'm pretty darn slow at it...I think I'm just too much of a perfectionist, lol. Before I do any animation though, I need to develop characters and decide what their personalities and all that good stuff will be. I think the hardest part in this project will be developing the charcters and deciding what they look like.

? didn't know you could do that. Have to try that sometime.

MATE...they are really good man!!! Simple yet effective enough to be halfway between realism and cartoon. Love the style man!!! Hope it goes well and I will keep watching you mate....yeh I love the second couch too!!!!! did you have an Aunty or Nanna with one too ben??
