Hey everyone, I think it's about time I post some work, so here is the latest project I'm working on. I've been working on it for 2-3 weeks now for a few hours a day at a time, depending on how much free time I have.

I'll try and update this regularly as I go, feedback is always appreciated.

Thanks!

(Sorry if the images are too big, not sure how to scale them down here)

I haven't purchased the tutorial so I'm not sure how in depth it goes. I just grabbed some blueprints, some reference images, and started modeling. :)

daverave 26-01-2011 06:17 PM

Evan better then, looking great..........dave

Perfecto 26-01-2011 06:19 PM

I don't know what you plan on doing in the final render, but I definetly hope you plan on doing a close up fly by or something cuz I'm loving all the details. Looking really great.

Not quite sure yet what I want to do for the final render, but I am definitely getting in close to show off all the details.

Just a small update tonight, started blocking out the cockpit.

Think I'm going to call the cockpit finished. It is missing quite a bit of detail, but I don't really have plans to get any close up shots of it. It should be enough detail just to form the silhouette of the interior.

Now just to add a few remaining details across the Apache, and the modeling should be done.

Ozgalis 08-02-2011 04:58 AM

wow nice work man, what you plan on doing with it?

skippyk39 08-02-2011 06:43 PM

I'm not really sure to be honest. Definitely going to put it in an environment, but beyond that I have no idea.

Not really an update, but I wanted to play around with some lighting in V-ray to see how it would look outside of an occlusion render. I quite like how the light wraps around the shape, though I don't think this will be my final lighting setup.

bullet1968 09-02-2011 10:28 AM

Im bbllliiiinnnndddddddddd...LOL thats def too bright mate

skippyk39 09-02-2011 09:14 PM

lol yeah the background is blown out just a little bit :P

I was looking at how the Apache sits on the ground, and I think I need to raise the tail end of mine up slightly, so it's not so tilted back the way it is now.

Thoughts?
