Alright, so, heres the rules.. 1 week from today (ends wednesday next week). Model a Critter, and ONLY a critter, do not pass the bare critter without clothes, accessories, etc. This tournament chart will be updated whever there is new images posted to keep you informed on how everyone is doing. Have fun :D.

Of course, thats the whole point, learn a lot, and have a blast! I CANT wait to see what kinda critters we get out of this challenge, hehehe.

don't mind me I might start just a little late as I'm up to my arse with the apr challenge.. but I got a consept.. or to.. will have it some time soon..

I'll be ok as along as I don't do a lot of fricking detail like on lusifer in the challenge.. (I'm going out of my mind.. ( well not really )

so fare what I was thinking was a centar done in with a shape stile of manga like I see on fineart.sk but with with more realisting textureing.

just one of them for now..

Well yes the geflings are cool, but i'm talkin about all the little critter type animals that inhabit that world. They are throut the movie, but the part where Jen (or chen, the boy one anyway) meets Kira in the woods. There is sooooooooo much inspiration in that whole scene.

I'll watch it agin...

Well, judging by the quality of your Lucifer model you could probably do some serious damage to me in this round :D . Anyway, here's the update I promised...

It's in the low-poly stage at the moment. All is polys except for the toe nails (tweaked NURBS cones) - which, so far, I have only put on the back left foot. I haven't attatched any of the limbs yet. Head still needs much time :D !!!

He's looking really cute though...

well what come to me to do might be to complex for how long I have left...

Hey pony, looks great but im not too sure if that counts as a critter. It just looks like a normal sized being. How small is it going to be, i guess its fine if its like, fairy size :).

She is supost be small for this... maybe 2 feet tall to her head ..

I don't know whats every one think ? Not that I'm trying to go around ya M but I don't want to step on the others toe's eather...

Pony, I believe you could work on her proportions to make her look more cuddly perhaps?
That way you wouldn´t have that problem.

LOL, i love it :D.. haha. Sorry for the problems pony.. but when i said critter i thought everyone would understand that i meant a small little being.. like a baby version of anything (small arms, small legs, big head, fat) But they can be cool too, like those super deformed gundam robots (thats the real name.. lol) Anyways, if you wanted to do a seal than thats fine :). I dont want you to think that this is limited.. like adl said, if you made your horsey more in a baby stage, but could still be cool with breasts and all ;), then that would be fine. HOpe this clears it up abit and kinda guides you more in the direction you want to go with your character.

BTW, your critter can be 2-3 feet tall... thats fine.

well let me do a action shot of her.. with the acceserys and envirment.. that might help. I'll see what I can do about some other things.. I gess part of the problem is you say baby.. and when I think of human or horse foals.. they tend to be pritty wirey looking really unless there at a helpless stage..

This should help you visualize a bit what I tried to tell you in the other post. She´s d*mn ugly though, but I´m sure you can make a far better rendition. :cool:

Look at the way proportions are played with here, and try to apply them to your work mate.

Hum.. well guys.. maybe I'm wrong but I see a problem with this. I would really like to do one that is bulky and soft like adl's pic.. I gess i could go more for that.. but fairys are small and slinder.. so I am having a time visualising what a mix like that would be like .. so what do you say.. should I go for one or the other.. or is there a there option ?

i wish i signed up for the tournement. i would love to make some sort of SD(super deformed for all anime fans) creature.. maybe ill do it for the hell of it. but still have my skatepark, my skateboard, my Concept aircraft... arge...
