October Challenge

I'm in, have not joined in one of these yet, so here I go. Thinking of what to do. I will take the door with scream and I guess I would be Normal (entry that is).

Welcome and good luck. Its rather hard to get it done on time, because you always feel like you can do better. Hopefully you wont have those problems.

Ice Queen 07-10-2003 03:17 AM

Haha, you speak my language!! Thanks.

The last of the motion tests, no more mucking arround, ready to animate. Building set next. I'm having fun with this!

Scraggy_Dogg 08-10-2003 05:59 PM

Wow that's so quick and good! Can't wait to see a 'blast' of it! :D

Ice Queen 08-10-2003 06:44 PM

Thanks, got to build scene first before I can play.

Witchy 08-10-2003 07:17 PM

Looking really jolly, I wish Finalrig worked with Maya 4 (sound of sobbing). I like the character's expressions - loads of emotion!

Ice Queen 08-10-2003 07:19 PM

Aah Witchy, this is my friends sight, he created it, want me to have a word??

Witchy 08-10-2003 07:33 PM

Blimey there would be much heroine worshipping if you did! I read all about it and was most enthused before I read which versions it worked on!

I have enjoyed (if that's the right word) making my own in the learning sense, but it would be so nice to have a tool to take the pain out of it when you just want to get on with making things move. I tried Creature Tools but it tells me I am missing a dll, I am doomed on auto rigging!

orgeeizm 08-10-2003 11:15 PM

Damn..Everytime I see models rigged and posed..just gets my fuel up more to learn it! Good job! Cant wait to see a test anim. =)

Ice Queen 09-10-2003 12:41 AM

Thanks for the comments. Witchy I dropped my friend an email, we shall see what he can do.

howardporter 09-10-2003 01:06 AM

whoah! That is looking awesome, nice expressions!

alexgc 09-10-2003 06:32 AM

Looks great!

I laughed so much as i scrolled down the previous page and saw each stage that u posed ur model. Very expressive. I look like that at times, I can tell u :)

Look forward to seeing more

Ice Queen 09-10-2003 01:31 PM

Thanks for the comments guys.

dave_baer 09-10-2003 08:19 PM

Setting up for the opening shot. Question; how do I smooth out these shadows? I have upped the dmap to 2500 it helps but still many pixels. Any other way or tricks without bumping up the dmap to the max??

dave_baer 09-10-2003 08:44 PM

Try up'ing the tesselation of the models a bit.

Ice Queen 09-10-2003 08:52 PM

Done that.

It' sorted, I decided to get up of my bum and get my digital lighting and rendering book (the bible - one of). My filter size was too small.

I have not posted for a while. Here is an update. She's all dressed up and in action, playblasts are toooo big to post so here is a still.

Ice Queen 18-10-2003 08:38 PM

P.s. will add smoking particles to head if time allows:)

howardporter 19-10-2003 11:15 PM

heh heh. I like it - nice expression!

fredriksson 19-10-2003 11:18 PM

I'd scream too if my head was on fire. :)

Nice job, and as howard said, nice expression. I think the hip looks like it bends a bit awkward, like rubber, some fiddling with weights should fix it.

Ice Queen 19-10-2003 11:23 PM

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll check on those weights!

dockode 22-10-2003 06:19 PM

Ahhhhhhh.... scary. :D

fredriksson 22-10-2003 06:51 PM

Hahaha, awesome.

Chris_H 22-10-2003 07:46 PM

Very nice sense of weight and great timing.
Well done, it's fantastic!

Witchy 22-10-2003 08:24 PM

That's jolly; as Chris said the sense of weight is really nice. The facial expression is great!

Ice Queen 22-10-2003 08:42 PM

Thanks for the possitive remarks guys:)
