And the back. The legs look short but it is because they are bent. I did a 360 render and with the motion you could tell they are right.

mtmckinley 23-10-2003 05:25 PM

I think the face does not match the quality of the body. You've done a really nice job with the body, especially the torso.

RickStefani 23-10-2003 06:00 PM

Thanks, Ya, I know about the face. Eyes did not render dorrectly. They are also to big. The nose neads more detail around the nosrals. Lips nead work. Neads more rinkles and muscle definition sense his body it ripped his face should be a bit more gaunt. A touch narrower too. Any other ideas? They are graetly appriciated.

GreyFox 23-10-2003 07:01 PM

Yeah, I agree about the face. ;)

He should also look scarier.

dockode 23-10-2003 11:22 PM

what happened with the jeep???

RickStefani 24-10-2003 12:00 AM

It is still having render issues. it work a few times and then it crashed. I started to texture and it did not like it. The more textures I do the more it crashes using batch renderer and setting the job size helped a little.

dockode 24-10-2003 12:08 AM

I've found that Mental Ray does not like 32 bit textures. At least the ones I've used. Perhaps you should try 16 bit. I could be wrong but it might help anyway.

RickStefani 24-10-2003 12:15 AM

Thanks, worth a try. I am at the point a say a prayer and pat my computer before I hit render. I am not a religous persone either.

does it have teeth? a demon aint a demon unless it's grinin about somethin naughty. nice torso and legs. rigged?

xian

RickStefani 29-10-2003 05:58 PM

Thanks Zyk0tiK, Drozador and dockode.

xian, No he does not have teeth and he is not rigged yet. I have to admit his mesh is a little heavy even on the presmoothed version. It is giving me second thoughts on weither I am going to finish this model. I learned from my mistakes when I made the person for my jeep. That one the polies are very easy to work with. I have an idea for like shark serated teeth that are semi transparent but I have not started them and do not know if I will continue. I could always try to rebuild those parts lower poly??? I have to decide. I am in the process of looking into going to an art school to get a better education in maya and max so I do not have all that much free time right now.

Vampus 30-10-2003 02:38 PM

High poly's isn't nessercerily a bad thing though. You can do photorealism with low poly's, nor can you do games with a large number of poly's.

Ice Queen 31-10-2003 02:13 AM

Really nice work, how about some nice blood red darkish glossy eyes.

Here are some updates. Thanks for all your replies. Heavy models do alow for some great detail at a price for speed.

I gave him the red eyes that cold fish, hehm, Ice Queen sudjested. They are not dark enough though. Thank, it will look good I think.
