Thanks guys, soften/harden polys does the trick

Be warned though: you have to select the edges where these artifacts occur and apply varying degrees of smoothing to them to get rid of artifacts.

Those objects were converted from subd to polygon.

Using the mesh smoothing options only improves the quality of subd or nurbs meshes - I think, because it didn't help.

No left over vertex's...

Hi

I am having trouble converting a subd object to a polygon object, I get these strange black faces around certain edges in the viewports as well as when I render.
