Thanks for the help guys. I guess it's not that big an issue to create new fur, might be the better idea anyway so i can add in a slight variance.

I was wrong, i thought there was no issues. I moved my model into place and the fur is messed up in the render. What the issue is, i need to scale the geometry and of course the hair doesn't scale...

Sigh, i just wasted an hour trying to resolve this, it was history on my geometry. I was positive i deleted it but there you go!

I'd say, don't waste your time on books, buy some points from here and download some of the tutorials, it's a much better way to learn. There's some amazing tutorials at Simply Maya.

That's a fiarly big job you're asking. Have you tried modelling it yourself?
