yeah, Booleans would likely give you nightmare topology that would be tricky to smooth. Some kind of inverted bump should do the trick at a reasonable distance/angle....otherwise displacement.

That ELS polytool script came in handy quite a bit in the end :)

Thoroughly enjoyed the tutorial... learned a few bits and pieces.

My only gripe is the video quality. Resolution is fine but...
