I got it figured out...turns out I didn't render the right camera...geesh!

Now...as to what you are saying...I am afraid I am not quite understanding. How do you add things in post production?

Okay...wasn't the answer...when I render one frame, the background is the colour I chose...but when I batch render, it is still black...any ideas?
