Why does "freeze transformations" not work on joints? Is there ANY tool that will achieve the same? (set transformations to zero w/o moving the joint)

Figured it out. You need to select a few of the faces on the subdiv. You can't simply planar map an entire subdiv, regardless of its form.

Oh man, I have a Radeon 8500 and I have the same problem! I thought my monitor was screwy!

Possible problem : Your VGA monitor is connected to the DVI port, which has some ghosting issues I know...
