you can just create the object without drawing it out...then you can input the scale you want. it'll automatically creat it as 1x1x1 (whatever scale you have set, in, m, mm, etc), then you can adjust...

you could use dynamics to flatten the shirts...create a pin constraint on the top of the shirt and then apply some gravity...or make the hangar rigid body and the shirt a softbody and let it go, so...

make sure to export your weighting before you start adding/removing joints!! otherwise you'll be crying a lot when you lose all of your work
