Create nurbs sphere > scale size> rotate so the end is facing forwards> make two new isoparms (you don't need to insert them, just the dotted lines) where the outer edge of the pupil and iris will be, or select the isoparms on the sphere if they are correctly placed> go into curves tab click detach cuves.

Should end up with three objects like this: (each object is shaded differently)
