Good model really? whats wrong with the nose area? how would u refine it?... how do u know im not matching my refs? this is a work in progress.. this is just a start, i only spent maybe 2 days on this model.. nothing is final here, im still tweaking. i have not even started on the body. -- also this is a very orthographic view of the model. it has more volume in perspective views. and the nose area is fine now, ive tweaked it a bit. the cheek bone are built cuz they need to match his overall musculature, and they look nothing like a chimp or gorrila... the eyes are definately not too deep... velusion: it should be the mib_amb_occ texture in maya in the MR tab in the hypershade. just plug it into the color channel of your shader and the ambient. i usually use a surface shader and plug it into the color slot.
