That is a VERY good point as well gster.
The Hardware render buffer is a bit different in terms of workflow for rendering hardware passes than the "Hardware Renderer, but I use it almost daily, and find it super easy to work with, and INSANE fast, as it uses the hardware
Check the help (F1) for details on rendering a pass with JUST the hardware render buffer.
