hi,

Now and again I run into the 'can't find appropriate startup camera' error when saving. this morning, I noticed that if I went to display>show>all, and made sure isolate select was unchecked the file saved with no error.
So, I can only assume that the error is caused by some combination of the various hide/show/view commands, but I don't understand enough about Maya to be able to pinpoint what.
Can anyone shed any light about how the cameras and their settings are saved?
