My ideas for a Maya computer

The best Maya computer for me is the one I can afford, right?

I would like a computer to run Maya 2011 and Adobe CS5.5. I have done research for a couple of weeks and have read the Maya list of approved workstations and graphics cards.

I would like to do 3D short animations and would like to get an animation job or be involved in collaborating on animation projects.

I have downloaded the PLE version of Maya 2011 on my Dell XPS, and it works for the easy stuff.

There are many variables for processors, ram, and video cards. The limiting factor will be my budget of around $4000.

Is there a better way to spend money on processors, ram, and video card?

Plan A about $1000 additional cost
