Getting landed in the industry is pretty hard from what I've heard, I do feel that the industry is maturing as well, meaning that the skill level being asked off ( junior) artists is raising each year.
Another threshold is the fact that you live abroad, which means you should be exceptional to be hired over someone who lives in the UK or US.
From what I have seen ( and think I know) is that the majority of schools isn't up to par , at least that's the general idea here in the Netherlands, so if the schools in your area aren't up to scratch don't go to school , but instead save that money for a study abroad ( Escape VFS Gnomon ringling etc) or an online study while you study at your own pace, maybe visit some drawing/painting classes , visit musea.
In the end it's about knowing the art not having a nice plaque on the wall ( although it is my fear that teh entertainment industry is "maturing"on this part).
