Export Maya model with Triple switch material intact?

I am having a Maya asset handed over to me and they are asking what format I want it in. The deal is that they have been using triple switch shading to apply surfaces and need to know if they need to change that. I would be using Modo or Lightwave, the main issue is their use of triple shader switching, can this be baked?
