Hello! Like the new design. but I liked the detail in the previous, can you combine the two??? The reason why it looks messed up is because the geomety is to close together, and it makes a wierd shadow. Its hard to avoid. I run into it all the time. I would recomend extruding the surface of the outer sphere inwards just abit and it should help reduce it. GL!!
