No it won't. You have several options: heres a couple Since its one object, I assume your using polys... You can use isolate select: Show>isolate select>view selected ( I usually tear off that lil pane so I can toggle it ) with polygons it only works with faces. with cv's on NURBS select some faces around the area your working , isolate select them then you can change back to points or edges. {read all about it in the help files. when you get really heavy characters it can really speed things up} Another option: Instead of using the lasso tool, use the Paint selection tool: Edit>paint selection tool>options this is one of my favorites, and definitely worthy of shelf space it's just like any artisan tool. *a good tip is to make sure you use the hard edge brush (the 3rd one) since components are either selected or not. I usually uncheck rotate to stroke, and make sure toggle is off. as with anything in Maya there are 100 ways to do stuff, those are just a few that work good for me. Joe
