I can't seem to get the panel menu to display. This is the menu bar in my perspective view which usually has menus such as view, shading etc. I've tried the maya 7 help, all of the preferences and UI display menu items etc.

When I first load up maya 7, I see the panel menus when it loads and then they disappear when the program is loaded and ready to use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
