I used lens blur on the last image.

On this I copyed the settings from the tutorial you linked, I also painted some difference in depth on the mountains to make it pop out more.

And sorry I want to focus on this angle/image so I wont create a closeup, and if you cant see the problems at this distance they arent really problems.
