use tga, or tiff, or even jpg to render multiframes. throw them together with a compositing program. this will solve your problem. try to avoid maya´s .avi formt. you can even use quicktime (pro) and open files as imagesequence, then export as .mov file.


everything starts and ends in the right place at the right time.
