Originally posted by acid44 well in maya 8.5 and lower you just had to click on the x,y,z icons in the compass to get the orthograpfic veiw from side top etc, I`m sure that only came in as a new feature in 8 (maybe 7) it has not always been around. I still use good old space bar as I hate that cube as well - it feels like I`m playing a computer game with that thing, but its the only thing I hate.
