If I were you I'd hunt around for a monitor at that price that a) has good reviews and b) has the highest resolution you can get.
I've got a 19" 1440x900 and it is generally good but I'd much prefer something with a 1600x1200 or similar resolution so that you get more on screen - which is very useful for 3D modelling
