There is a way to make eyes look at a target(so that they look at the same thing)

However I dont know how to do it without Maya installed, but its rather simple.

Look around in the "animation" area, i dont know the name but it might be "look at target"(could be 3ds max tho)

You could also google it in hope of finding a tutorial.
