Yer looking at it again within Maya it looks fine - just think its the render. Does anyone know how to render out the AO as a texture. I mean so it looks like a uv map (I know how to do a AO render) I got a video on how to do this in 3dMax (as well as defuses maps and so what) and I have heard people talking about it within maya but never heard how. It makes painting the textures a bit easier in the video I watched (eat3d ones some lovely photo-shop work) and also will not have to render it out each time I want to use it. Also started work on the inner mouth but nothing to show just yet
