Default Can't reuse render layers

For some reason I am not able to reuse an already rendered layer (by clicking the arrows and making them green). '

For example when I have a ambient occluson layer i want to keep, this is what I get in the script editor:

// Error: Could not get the image file C:/Users/Hummlas/Documents/maya/projects/Leopard Tank/images/tmp/Amb_Occ/cannon.iff. //
// Error: Failed to composite image file C:/Users/Hummlas\Documents/maya/projects/Leopard Tank/images/tmp/Amb_Occ/cannon.iff. //

Anyone who know how to solve this?

I tried googling " Error: Failed to composite image file", but it returned ZERO results..

Am I the only one with this problem?
