Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Xray shading

Hey gang,

You know the XRay shaded option in Maya viewports?

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the transparency levels of it?

Thanks.

no. but u can dwnld this script for Xray that makes only the selected object xray.
for instance when u use maya's default Xray operation, it turns entire scene 50%trans, but with this script u can make only object u select to appear Xray leaving other objects normal shaded.
i assign this to a hotkey like ctrl +1

Dann also. you can make a hot key to change the transparincy of like say a defalt lambert named XrayLamb. This can work just like Xray. But I'm not sure if it will work with your gf-card. Let me know if you can.
to make the hotkeys. bring up your script editer. Change the tranparincy to what you want, say 70%. A line will apear in the script editer copy that out to your shelf. Thin you can assine a hotkey for it also if you wish. Do this again for setting transparincy back to 0%.
