well i wanted to create a "flower opening" for a seasonal promo video..i tried alot..in maya paint effects but still that look does'nt satisfy, Any one here knows way to work around with Flowers(painteffects) or how to create realistic ones, i mean close to nature.

If the paintfx ones aren't satisfactory, probably best thing to do is to actually model one.

modelling that is easy! then you could use driven keys or even IK to do the flowers opening. Assuming that you wont need too many of them to achieve the look you need.

what? modelling a flower? the pic you have there is more than enough reference I would say. Have a crack at it. All you need to do is model one type of leaf for each of the main ones and then duplicate and adjust them slightly. Should be fairly simple.
