Image Plains

I Watched the free video tutorial Dragon Project - image plains

I found it very useful, but...

When the image is applied to the plain, its suppose show in perspective view. But in my maya, it refuses too, Im sure this solution is very simple, but I haven't found any, can anyone help a newbie in need?

You see, all that happens is the plain gets lighter, but no image...
