Question Problems with Playblast

After going through the various animation tutorials in the Maya Help, I was introduced to the Playblast option. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working correctly, whenever I choose the option it only blasts(?) about 20% of the animation and the rest of the movie created is just a still.

I have a feeling that my processor may not be up to scratch (1.25 GHz), but does anyone have any ideas why Playblast isn't working properly for me?

i take it your using windows xp?

cause its a known bug for playblast in xp where the blast fails to update part way into the animation

one way to provide a temp fix for it and to improve the blast is right click maya shortcut item and go to compatibility tab and choose win2k.

if that fails, close maya and restart then try- doing this will flush the cache and allow you to begin again...

i get this alot when working with dynamics
