Duplicate

How do i make something duplicate and go to the other side and match up like in the video's?I wanted to build only one half and match it up on the other side of it so its semeterical. If anyone could help that would be nice..

U select the object and go edit, duplicate, option box and set scale to -1 in the direction you want the object to duplicate, and push apply user added image

if your working in poly and you want it to make one object automatilly you can go to polygons > mirror geometry.
