Question CAMERA/SPOTLIGHT "lock on" problem

I was doing the first lesson in Maya Complete 2 ... (the rocket one) ... when it got to the "follow camera/spotlight >> "Constrain >> Aim" The camera & spotligt will NOT "lock" onto the rocket. I tried going over the lesson several time from scratch and the same results!! Is there some kind of default setting I can reset them to so they will work properly?
