Post shatter an object

In order to shatter an object with another object. I create an object to shatter and hid the original surface. Now the part I'm not shore about isl, do I highlight the shattered object and set the collision options on both or what?

Do a search for "Shatter" in the docs, and the "How-to" is there for you ready to go

Sorry, it was just easier to say that than do a mini-tut

Thanks I have found it. Do you know anything about adding texture to particles or where I can find a tutorial on it?

Again, if you have Maya 6 or later, if you do a search for "texture particles" in the "Tutorials" part of the bottom results, there is a whole list of the ways textures and shaders can be used to influence and appear on certain particles, and fluids
