GEOMETRY DILEMMA

Hey,

I am having a tough time trying to get rid of this underlying geometry in this model of an orchid. I modeled the petals as polys, and extruded them slighty so the petals are not paper thin. But when I render it the other side seems to cast shadows inside the shell? How can I fix this, I've tried changing the DMAP resolution and Filter with little difference in results ;[

Thanks!

-Brian

mayeb turn off the double sided attribute in the render stats or even smooth the petals more because the "shadowing" is right where the geometry is lying.
