advice on dirt maps

I was wondering..if anyone coudl help me out with dirtm aps..
only way i cna think to do one up...is just make a layer in my texdture map..for dirt..and apply it together....

is that th eonly way or...is there one better?

u r trying to use the dirt map shader or trying to dirty textures with a dirt texture u made?

NEither at the moment.. just..trying to igure out the best way to approach it when the time comes...

and i wasnt sure there was a way to do up a dirt map in the hypershade..
