Default how to model boots?

im having a lot of trouble modeling boots/shoes.

could anyone give me a good idea how I should start?

a link to any good tutorials/workflow vids would be helpful.

In a way you could apply the same technique as box modelling a car. Get a front and side view reference shot of the boot/shoe first and then look around on the net for maya car tutorials. Apply the same technique and you should come out with something half decent

You may try the excellent Joan of Arc's tutorial
it's for 3dmax, but you can adapt to Maya with ease.
