what would I have to do in order to use a file (displacement file also) instead of the craterShader? I´d be happy if anybody knows about where to plug my file into - shader?/channel?

This is the same tutorial provided by Alias on their site. Silver Membership or higher is required to view it, but the process looks exactly the same (http://www.alias.com/glb/eng/communi...itemId=2800057)

Dunno who was the originator (edu site - I think). But I got good results from the tutorial. I think this is the accepted way to deal with this type of rendered effect.
