Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Maya's Coordinate System

Hey everybody!

Is there some way to change the coordinate system? I'm not used to having the positive values on the Z axis come up towards me when in defualt view - it really bugs me. Changing the defualt perspecitive ain't a solution, it messes us the X axis, where the positive values go to the left instead of the right as they should.

Thanks

That option can be changed in the Preferences. Z and Y, as I am aware, are the only choices for the up axis...

Y is usually the default up axis for Maya.

As far as l'm aware that you can change the way the Y axis works, but that is not the axis I'm having problems with. Do other programs follow the same format as Maya does with its coordinate system?
